Hi,
got a 93 EG with a d16z6. ive searched but havent really come to a conclusion and want some advice please.

Basically my engine has a high idle when cold at about 2k. Also the car smokes black and blue/white (not too sure which it is) at about 5k+ RPM.

Anyone got anyideas, someone mentioned a sensor of some kinda possibly?

Oh,
spark plugs are overdue a change (will be getting done this weekend) would this make a difference

 

ok if it's blackish grey it's the MAP sensor. if it's blue it's oil eather way i would have to say you need work done.

map is ez to fix but the rest you need to take the motor apart

if it was a bad map sensor he would have a CEL.

when was the last time you did a tune up? also, do you have any CEL on?

 

my GF's car had a bad map when we got together as soon as i put in the new one the smoking stop and she had NO CEL.
