Reinforcing/repairing mouting holes in front lip
Hey guys
I'm about to put a stock lip on my dx from an si but 80% of the holes where it mounts are broken and it was being held up with a well placed zip tie(god love em)
I would rather not have a droopy lip or a ziptie to be honest, So i'm wondering what we can do to fix these holes.
I have an idea in my head but need a little know-how for the execution of it. I want to get a hard setting 2-part urethane or something and just redo the whole areas and drill out new holes.
My question is, is there anything out there that you can use to press the urethane in between to keep it all nice and flat, but that it won't bond to?
like wax paper almost.

Wanna know what the easiest thing to do for your situation? Just use self tapping screws in between the stock mounting holes. That will make it a snug and tight fit. Quick solution and durable, plus you don't have to repair anything.
damn i didnt even think of that, between the two of you i've got my answer, i'll use screws and some new washers.
this is why I love this place.
thanks for telling me the totally obvious thing that I completely didnt think of

going outside right now to yank the lip from the si, i'll assess the damage then head off to rona for hardware.
Consider pics a certainty.

That + double-sided tape in between = win.

awesome.... i'll use tape too.
Right now its off the si and I've got some glue in behind 2 cracks and just going to let it dry overnight, i'll pick up tape at work tommorow and probably put it back on tommorow night.

As it turns out, either my bumper on one of the cars is a bit warped or the 88-89 lips just dont quite fit the newer 90-91 bumpers.
can anyone confirm this? I get a 1/4 inch moon shaped gap at the corners that they both bend around
