if you need to replace it ASAP, then i say use the hoist. but if can wait to get a jack, use the jack, it's lot easier.
with the jack, you will need a peice of 2X4 , place it on top of the jack, then place the jack under the oil pan, raise it just enough where it is supporting the engine, then swap the mount out and your done.

yeah same way as the leftside of the car, just on the tranny.
and for the jack, i prefer using a hydro jack. you can pick up a 2 1/2 ton jack at wal-mart for about $40-50, if that.

It's alot easier using a jack, remember my jelly mount went really bad on me and the way i replaced it was with a jack right under oil pan using a brick between the pan and the jack and it was a done deal... good luck
Lucky you. I'm stuck having to replace my rear mount which is not doable due to other problems with my other mounts. I wish it was my driver mount that was bad. Hate to keep repeating what everyone says but just adding assurance that using a jack is the easiest and fastest way. I could take off and replace the mount in just a few min. First time took me about 10-15 min. It's cake.
Just make sure you have plenty of leverage when trying to loosen the nuts. The ratchet socket plug thingy (the square piece that actually goes in the socket) completely broke off on me the first time. I was left with a useless socket extension since it had the piece of metal stuck in it. Make sure you don't try to use a cheapy cheapy socket wrench. Air tools = best.

^^It litterally ripped off and was stuck in the socket extension^^
Maybe I'm just an idiot for using a regular ratchet for engine mount bolts
I dunno.. But ever since, it has never happened again. I guess that's why torque wrenches were invented which I have never in my life have owned and still don't
I really should go out and buy one.

if the wrench you were using was craftsman, that is rare that it broke, they are one of the best out there. and for you to break it you must have been using the wrong size ratchet, your bolt was seized up, or both.
