Default how do you use an engine stand?

I need to place the engine on the stand. it's now sitting on a dolly. How do I use the "clamps"(don't know the name) on the engine stand to hold the engine? anyone got instructions or know a web site of using an engine stand? thanks

get 2 or 3 big guys (depending on how big the engine is) to hold the engine while you adjust the "clamps" (i don't know what you call it either) to the tranny side. and use the tranny bolts to hold the engine.
