My 00 civic si the windows are tinted, from previous owner and im not to big on tint so i don't know the percent( but it's probably as or almost as dark as limo tint. Anyways the windows are stopping a lil more than half up and stoping. Would this have anything todo with tint, or maybe the motor or regulator for the windows, to mention i know my friend had the tint on for at least a year, and they workd fine for me for a month. They are going down, just not going u all the way. If any one has any ideas or anything.

Lube the run channel(the black rubbery thing that the glass slides on). If it still works crappy, it might be the regulator. On mine, when its really hot it does the opposite. It wont go down smoothly, but will go up just fine.

 

Its your regulator. I had the same problem. I just replace mine not to long ago. It was an easy job. But if the motor sounds like its stuggling then replace the motor too. Regulator cost me like 30 dollars at autozone. Have to order it thou.

Don't mean to thread jack but I have the same problem and was going to lube my run channels this week. Anybody know what type of grease / lubricant needs to be used?

Yeah, KY is water soluble though. White grease, silicone, or "dry" silicone lube works ok.

 

Yea its both windows now. And back to the any preference on which one to use( just ran out of the ky last nite lol).

LOL, it appears that it's suggested to use silicone spray in that thread. Honda uses white grease on most of their other parts, so I think I'm going that route.
