Default Another Stupid Hypothetical Question...Sealed Intake

Ok so this is a tech forum, and i seen a lot of ideas i never would of that to be possible.

This on just popped into my head after reading.

This is totally hypothetical just as example but what would happen if you sealed your intake up, and instead had like 2 fairly large tanks in your car for a run...1 tank Pure oxygen the other nitrous if that would boost HP. Would this setup ever work in terms of added HP gains same setup and same but using outside air and a ballast in the trunk to match weight of car with both tanks for comparison on another car? Like is the pure oxygen you could buy be better quality than outside air?

Stupid question i am stoned go figure

my friend made two tubes in eachother. the inside tube was filled with water and the outside one was filled with dry ice. hooked it up as an intercooler sprayer. he made two passes , he said it work really well but the lines started freezing. it was removed shortly after.

you won't have a big enough tank to hold the air. too much weight penalty.

assuming you got a 1.8L, the engine breathes in 1.8L every revolution. your redline is 8000 rpms. so your engine will breathe in 14,400 liters of air every minute at redline.

that's a lot of air. by comparison, a normal scuba tank contains about 2,265 liters of air.

I know this lol, I only said that as example, this question on only for some knowledge i was wondering. consider it then someting SMALL like lawnmower, you you dyno a NA John Deer Rider and then a John Deer With a Tank of COMMMERCIAL PURE oxygen....would the tanked Engine have noticable power gain?

Not like anyone would ever do thise what about old subs that ran this way? didn't they use tanks?

The basic question was IS THE AIR CLEANER and Better if tanked in rather than outside smog polluted air.

you answered your own ******* question...

yes tanked air is cleaner/better. yes 100% pure oxygen is better than 30% pure oxygen.

go to school and take a chemistry course or something.
