ethanol / IC q's
Wel you kind of summed it up for yourself. Its not "needed", but sometimes people use them anyways. Most of the ars are only turned on about 40 seconds at a time, so the car wont get very hot while running methanol. Granted, the cooler the engine, the better; however, its not always needed or prefered.
only downsides I would say would be weight, and having to pack the ice (not really that big of a deal)
gary's car is weighing 5lbs over the minimum and it's setup without an intercooler, while adding one wouldn't hurt anything, it would add probabaly an extra 50 or 60lbs, and the tuneup is fine without it.
the intake air reads under 100, but doesn't necessarily represent the actual temperature since the methanol could be hitting the sensor directly...
