TEIN Basic Type Coilovers
I am looking at getting a decent set of coils and wondereut these d what people thought aboor had an experience. Also if you have any suggestions on a good suspension setup (coils or springs and struts) for about 550 to 600 let me know.
Thanks
Thanks
for $600 I could think of better setups
Tein's other products are nice though. I wouldn't even look at teins though until you get into the $1000 range.
And for $1000 Buddy club coilovers are superior to the teins IMO

Do you have any ideas about a better setup i should use for about $600? im thinking springs and struts will be a better idea for the money because i can get top end stuff that way.
it is a DD so i want a decent ride but at the same time i am a spirited driver when i get around windies.... i want to lower my EG coupe so it looks good but performs well. i am going to put sways on strut bars on also. im looking no more than $600 right now...im starting college.
If you don't need adjustablity, and know a roundabout height, you could easily go with some koni yellows and a progressive spring for ~$600
Like me, i'll be going with Koni Yellows and H&R race. New it's about $650
And will likely way out perform tein basics.

The shocks? They have adjustable perch settings, but those don't affect the height much. Height will depend on the springs or setting your have the coilover sleeves on.

i'd def suggest koni sports and ground controls, they are worth it. granted, most people don't really 'need' the damping adjustment, BUT, it's a nice feature and with some of these companies, you really don't know what kind of valving you'll end up with if you don't get adjustables.
re: the ground controls- i'd get custom rate units tho, or atleast contact ground control with your setup to see what they think before ordering.

ek forever guy, do you like the H&R race springs for DD? Whenever i get arround to doing my suspension I was concidering these, but I am worried they would be to stiff for DD on badly paved South Carolina roads!

I have been looking at the eibachs because ive had them before and they were gravy... im not sure if i was pro kit or sportline... had pro before and loved them but might wanna go lower. any suggestions? i want about 1.75 drop and i know i can adjust the perch...just that far w/ pro kit?

sportlines are a couple hairs over 1.5. if you've swapped or have stereo stuff, or are a heavy person, expect 1.75 or so.
i'm not sure what you mean by saying "I know I can adjust the perch" because the SL's do not involve such a thing.
anyway, the sportlines are progressive like the prokit however they offer a stiffer initial and final rate, and of course the lower stance.

oh i c...yeah, you should be in the range you need then. also, i'm not sure of how effective the koni's are past 1.75" in terms of travel, so you are probably headed in the right direction.

I've never ridden on eibachs, but I had H&R races on my old car and I loved them for daily driving. It was the perfect drop for me because I've got good roads here.
The springrates are good, though neuspeed I think has some that are a little stiffer if you like. Nut the drop is 1/2" less.
