I have a 96 civic ex and im tryin to change my turn signal bulbs (7440) but i cant get the bulbs out. ive tried everything. any help is appreciated

 

twist to the left and pull?

idk about your car but thats all my sol does

 

break the bulb . . . .

grab a potato . . .

stick the potato in the broken bulb . . .

and just pull it out . . . .

 

ive tried that. that is also what the manual for my car says but it doesnt work. i dont know if i have the wrong bulb in or what but it just wont come out. by the way i dont have any potatoes

are yall being serious about the potato and apple? if so, how exactly does it work?

 

I assume you're trying to change the rear turn signal bulbs, since the front bulbs are not 7440?

The bulbs are held in by friction, and simply pull straight out. You don't twist them.

best bet then just pull the socket it off and buy a new one.

i had a similar problem with my ej6 and all i did was unplug the socket drive down to the honda parts and service and bought it for like no more than $10 i might be wrong could be less though!!!!

yeah it does! only i used it on a lightbulb above a kitchen sink, turn out the light ( u have no indea how many times this has happened to unsuspecting people), bust the bulb, clean up the glass, grab a spud or apple, cram it on the socket, spin it, and it should come rite out

 

they are the rear bulbs and i tried pulling them straight out. wouldnt work. and i could hear and see the glass from the bulb chipping

 

Post a photo of the bulb. If it is indeed 7440, you just aren't pulling hard enough.

 

rear bulbs are sometimes bitches to pull out!!!!!!

espescially if the previous owner super glued some wack *** L.E.D lights

Yes, that's it. As you can see, there's nothing holding it in there except friction, and there isn't any secret to removing them. They do just pull straight out.
