Default question about offset in a 00 civic?

I have a 00 Si and i was wondering what's the max + offset for wheels can you get before you start hitting the fender line? does it make a difference in rim size as well?

I would said maybe about 35-38 mm. The width of the rim and tire must be taken into account. Also, how much you lower your car.

i don't know exactly how low my car is, but i can fit one finger between the tire and fender.
