You can easily take this to a real tire shop. They'll give you a "for sure" real answer.

think you'll need to go to at least a 215 size tire....most 205s I know of are only rated to about 7.5"
also offset will play an important factor as well

For one, it depends on the offset...
You'll probably have to shave/roll/pull fenders and you'll probably have to use at least a 205/50 or 215/50 so you have enough sidewall to stretch across an 8 inch wide rim...
I've seen it done on a couple of DA's, but I don't remember the tire size or offset.
I have a friend getting ready to do that to his DA and he said something about needing at least a +20 offset to pull it off. So you can take that for what it's worth...

HAHAHAHAHA...man, someone told me to register on here because i could find anything i wanted...well im going to use my first post to correct all the untrue information in here.
I have a 1999 Civic Coupe. I also have several sets of wheels for several reasons. One set is 15 x 8 ET 12 with Bridgestone Potenza G009 195.50.15 tires on them. My car is on coils and when the 15 x 8's go on, not only must it be raised, it has to be driven on a completely smooth surface such as a track because they rub really really bad.
It seems nearly everyone on here forgot about the most important thing...offset. ET12 is very low for these cars, but they make wheels lower. If he is running, say, a set of 15 x 8 wheels ET 0 they will not work without body modification.
So the next question is...what is the wheel offset?

bolt the rim up snug to the hub turn will back and forth in the air to make sure the rim clears everything!
If so find a used tire for free or cheap in the size you want and test it out??

That will just clear the fenders with a 205/50/15 tire...how low are you? That is starting to cut it close, you would be "safer" (as far as rubbing goes) with sat a 195/50 or 195/45 tire.

Check the offset. Your issue is...if you get 45 profile tires where the tire "rounds out" like the sidewall protrudes a bit more than the rim edge, when you turn, at full lock the inner tire will rub the tie rod end, get aftermarket ones that bow more.

With that mindset you are destined to fail at nearly everything you attempt.
