95 accord screeching noise from wheel
there is a screeching noise coming from the passengers front wheel. The screeching starts when I turn right or sometimes its triggered when I hit a bump at faster speeds. When I come to a stop it goes away and doesnt start again until I speed up and turn right or hit a bump. I can also make it go away if I do a sharp left turn. It sounds almost like metal on metal. I checked and the brake pads are still good, as I replaced them last year. However the rotors are in pretty bad shape but i dont understand how a bad rotor could cause something like this, is that possible? Im planning on replacing the rotors anyways, I already have purchased new ones. Is it possible that its the rotors or could it be something like the wheel bearings?
Hmmm... A screeching from the wheel area is an indicator you need to replace your brake pads. Check if the metal indicator tab is touching the rotor. You can hear metal to metal. Screeching in other words.
Have you ever checked you CV boots lately? See if there's any holes in the boots. The grease may either got thrown out and now you're experiencing the metal to metal.
