need help with my hatch..

Default need help with my hatch..

ok, i bought a cx '94 with a blown engine. i put in a b15b7, but still retained the original harness, etc.. it wont start, do i need to change the distributor? how do i go about? any help would be great.

go through the list
does the starter turn over?
do you have spark?
Fuel?
Compression?

always a good start

spark yes, fuel yes, comp yes. its like it wants to start but backfires once in a while.. is ther a difference with positioning of the 8valve dizzy and the 16valve dizzy?

no...it sounds like the timings off or you mixed up the spark plug wire order

^^ Indeed what he said check to make sure your wires are correctly positioned on the dizzy to the block.

yup, its all right, still wont. is there a difference in distributors for the 8v and 16v d15b's?? i read somewhere about interchangable 1's.. is this one of them? i put my d15b8 dizzy on the d15b7. where can i find the part#?

Your dizzy should be fine, i've swapped obd I's II's and ones from the 8 valve, and vtec so on and so forth. You are 100 percent that the plug wires are good? and timing belt. It should start regardless of where you have the dizzy lined up, but you can just throw it in the middle.

yes i did this swap in my buddys car same exect one and it wouldnt start it was because we had the wires on the dizzy wrong, make sure your firing order is correct or else even if it does start it will run like a subaru

the rotor wont match when the engine is at top dead. all the bolts dont even line up. i opened the dist cap. the part number in the distributor is td-41u. why is this so?

is it possible the head is from a vtec??? if the td-41u wont bolt on exactly...

if you got the motor right out of another car the timing shouldnt be off... i had the same problems and the majority of the time it was the order the spark plug wires were connected to the dizzy...
