b16 help
I HAVE JUST SWAPED B16 SWAP IN MY 96 CIVIC IM USING THE STOCK HARNESS WITH obd2a to obd1 ecu jumper harness CONNECTED 2 MY P28 ( IT ISNT CHIPPED) BUT MY CAR WONT START? I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY COULD TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE?
First, check if all your grounds are in place. then see if your fiing order is right. 1-3-4-2, then if that all checks out, check to see if you have spark. If its the distributor that came with the motor, the ignition coil mught be at fault. If you have a shop manual on the motor that would help mucho loads too! oh yeah. if you havent already change all the plugs n wires. that helps 2!

Well you can start by putting the right ECU in it, a P28 won't make it run well, and certainly not optimal.
After you put in the correct ECU, see what it's not doing, if it's not turning over? Is it not pumping fuel? Or is it not sparking?
Are you sure YOU swapped the engine in? 'Cause it seems like you don't have a clue what you're doing.
A) To make sure it's sparking, pull the spark plug wire and spark plug (any) - then plug the spark plug into the spark plug wire and hold it up in the air - have somebody crank over the engine - you'll see it sparking (small but noticeable at the tip of the spark plug) - if it's not sparking, you have an ignition problem. The spark plug is self-grounding so you don't need to hold it to anything like I'm sure somebody else will tell you to (like holding the wire to a piece of metal or sticking a screwdriver up there or some stupid crap like that).
B) Your fuel isn't puming, make sure you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key to "stage 2" ("on") when you turn the key. Just put the key in, turn it 2 clicks until it's "on" - but not "start" - and see if you hear a quick hum (for like 3 seconds) then a click.
C) See what happens what happens when you put the right ECU in there. Running a B16 on a P28 ECU is just stupid.
Use the P30 if u wanna use an OBD-I ECU - or any chipped OBD-I ECU with a B16 basemap burnt onto it will work fine.
D) If it's not cranking over at all - check to see if all your grounds are good, and see if you can pop start it. Also check to see what happens if you jump the starter (if it turns over). That's probably either a bad ground, short in the wiring, or bad starter.
More info is always better, and please, no caps locks needed.

Just verifying that, in case you don't know which is which:
