5 lug conversion on crx
I posted a topic a long time ago and there was a guy with a crx who had done the complete conversion.
He said it all swapped over and bolted up for the most part.
But now I can't find that thread through a search. WTF?
Anyone save the link maybe?
.....And before you start asking why, the brakes are why for autox and track! And the ability to run 5 lug wheels.

i put 5 lug on my friends white 90 crx and all you need is the outer tie rod ends off an 94+ integra. i have pics i could post too but i dont know how to host them. if you have any questions about it let me know by e-mailing me at jdmhondaparts@hotmail.com
The tie rod ends on a 94+ integra are the same as the EF. I have Type R tie rods on my CRX and they bolt up fine to the EF knuckles. I compared them side by side and they were the same length too.
SuperTwinz - Thanks for the pics & links! Do you know if there is a how-to page for the conversion on a CRX? I'm not too sure how different they are compared to DA's.

The main reason you do 5lug are the brakes I feel. I would also very much like to know the details for this black crx swap. It is obvious you need EX knuckles (or ITR knuckles?) for front. I've heared that trailing arms will do for rear but I guess we have different upper control arms in 4G. Lower control arms are 100% the same. What about sway bar?

how many times do i have to tell people stock brakes are fine for autocross? oh well. no one will ever listen to me, and hey, what the hell do i know..

Well, I have a FREE 5 lug conversion and set of rims I can use. That way, I can share rubber with my itr too... So that's why! I just need to find out what I need from the donor itr to swap over.
damn, anyone got pics of a crx with 5 lug? sounds sweet.
I had seen a pic of a white rex with 5-lug on here a LONG time ago in the archives... couldn't find it recently, but is must be out there...
Anyway, my questions right now are:
1. Anything different about the 5 lug to DA conversion from the 5 lug to EF conversion?
2. What about the itr master cylinder, proportioning valve, and an aftermarket brake bias controller? Necessary, or just neato to have? Anything else we're leaving out?

2. You can use an EX master cylinder and that will get you to 15/16" and bolt up. You'll really have to hack the car up to get a type R booster and cylinder on there, and you will have to redo the brake lines to install the cylinder by itself. You can use the prop valve, though I've heard the Del Sol is a better option for the ditributiuon because of the weight differences. You will also need to install the rear disc brakes the proper way by removing the hub/spindle assembly from the trailing arm and maintaining your stock trailing arm. You will need to get a set of 90-1 CRX Si E-brake cables. You don't need new tie rod ends, but they will have to be adjusted after swapping because toe will be off by about an 1 1/2".
Personally, I don't recommend the front's at all because the geometry sucks in any real racing circumstance. Perhaps if you got a set of SiR knuckles and used the hubs out of the Type-R, but I'm not too sure that that would work because the Type R's have a larger wheel bearing.
due i was planning on doing this swap... I know that JeffNA was also gonna do this and put on some RSX rims on....
ttt ---hoping to get more info on the swap

Thank you for your reply CRX-RX!
I have the complete salvage itr at my disposal, so I'm going to try and bolt up everything I can pull off the itr... Then I guess I'll find out the hard way...
I have a camber kit for the front because I've heard the biggest problem is the camber being positive after a swap like this.....
Anyone got new info?
Thanks.
