Default no vtec

i have a 1997 type r and lately my vtec will engage and disengage as it pleases, could it be not enoght oil or what, thanks

Check your oil.

engages when? like when u try and hit vtec? or randomly when driving? also what else do u have in your car? vafc maybe? the only thing im thinking now is a ecu, or vafc(if installed) problem. or maybe bad connection on the solenoid.

haha vtec fluid, its a fully built type r with a turbonetics t3/t04 .67 trim turbo at 14psi, it was engageing around 7k when its supose to engage at 4500, i thought it was oil, but i was just making sure.

... Uhhh... Yeah... With a built/boosted Type-R, you MIGHT want to keep up on your oil level a bit more. Bearings LOVE oil starvation.
