quick question about bodyfilling

Default quick question about bodyfilling

Ok the rust on my DA is bubbling should i sand it down back to surface level and then put on bodyfiling then sand and what not or does bodyfilling go first? im a noob at this but i can go any further on this project before getting this done so someone please help me out ill ry and get pix tomorrow to see what im talking about

generally rust doesnt just appear on that one spot. You want to sand around it..maybe 4-5 inches around it just to make sure you eliminate all the rust (dont forget behind it. - if it has rust all the way through). Once you have done this, you'll want to fix the area with body filler to regain your surface. once this is complete you will want to apply an etching and sealing primer above the baremetal and bondo. Allow this to dry, then paint.

if you just sand and refill the rust with bodyfiller it will just come back. it will have to be cut out and a metal patch welded in to fix it correctly.
