do i have a sh???
first off this is my first import.ive always messed with trucks butthat got old.so i have a 99 honda prelude.the engine is stamped h22a4.i want to buy a header but i need to know if its a base or sh.whats the easiest way to tell??thanks.
If it's an auto, it's not an SH.
Otherwise, look at your VIN. You will see JHMBB614... for a base or JHMBB615... for an SH.
You can also look to see if the door panels have lights in them. SH did, base did not.

I fixed that. All 5Gens are BB6. I don't know what the hell I was thinking.
There are tons of base models with spoilers. When my base model was a street car, I had a spoiler with the SH rear deck so there was no 3rd brake light.
The underbody spoiler was an add on. Neither the base nor the SH came from the factory with them.
You can't see if you have ATTS without getting under the car.

where is the oil filter located ? Also when u go to change the oil is it open where u can get a socket on the oil pan darin plug or do u need to use a box wrench because other wise it wont clear ? Thats a sure way to also tell.
You can also look at the radiator, is there trans (in this case ATTS) cooler lines going to the bottom of the radiator ?

Yes, you can go by the VIN Base model has 14 after the BB6 and the Type SH has 15 after the BB6.
But it sounds to me like a base model if you have the 3rd brake light in the back window and no ATTS light...Type SH's also come with color matched side skirts and courtesy lights on the bottom of the door panels.

Just take an off ramp at 100mph. If you slam the concrete barrier you have a base, if you make it you have an SH.

Just look at you dash lights, if you dont have an ATTS light you have a base, its the easiest way. That and your door lights.
