is it a sh or a base?
is their any easy way to tell if a 99 prelude is a base modle o an sh? i'm not sure because, it has a spoiler, and a leather shift ****, but base wheels and a rear brake light on the deck. i didnt see any sh badges, but the car from what i understand is stock. any help?
umm this has been discussed before, but that sounds like it is a stockie. Check for lights on the door panels of the car, that is always an easy sign. Also check where the oil filter is, if it is a bitch to get to, you got an SH. And when you turn on the car look for an ATTS light.
theres something with the vin number too that lets you know, but i dont remember what exactly. you can always looks at the radius rod. if it runs to the LCA its a base model. if it runs to the ball joint, its an SH.
Look up your transmission code to see if its an SH tranny.
Another giveaway is if you have two lines running over your transmission when looking down at it from the engine bay.
Chances are its not, considering I don't know why an owner would put the base model rear deck and add the third brake light in when they had an SH.

well i'm sure its not that hard to figure out looking at the car, but i dont have the car right now i'm going off pictures. i'm buying it from a guy and at the time i went to see it i didnt know all the diffrences beween base and sh. peronaly i would rather it be a base and not have to deal with atts. but the car is 900 bucks so i dont mind either way

Sounds like a base because of the base wheels as well as the third break light. The SH doesn't have the third break light and came with different rims.
