B16 lsd
Is it normal for my B16a lsd tranny to make a clunking noise when i turn, I put 10w30 in it with a friction modifier additive, any suggestions on how to quiet to damn thing down. I've only had it in my car for a couple of days. Thanks
Oh and yes the axles have been replaced so i know that's not the noise.

THe problem has continued to plague me, The transmission shifts perfectly, no problems with that, i have used 10w-30, then added a friction modifier, drained that and now have honda mtf. The problem occurs in the first 10-15 minutes of driving then it goes from clunking during my sharp left turns to clicking. I would like to get it fixed because it feels like the whole car shakes when it happens. Any suggestions would be great or info on fluids and such you all have had luck with.

what makes you so sure it's the lsd? could be a bad ball joint? tie rod? maybe something is loose? check the suspension.
lsd's are supposed to be quite. what type tranny do you have? are you sure it's lsd? hondas come with a stock geared type lsd.

It has to be something with the swap because it's only done it since the motor was put in. drove the car before swap no clunk, after swap clunk. I'm not positive it's the lsd just a guess because i can feel it try and lock up both wheels to accelerate. And i think it would be a rare coincidence that three sets of brand new axles were faulty. Am i buying the wrong axles for it I'm pretty sure the axles are interchangeable between gsr's and b16's.

yes the axles are interchangable between the gsr (b18) and b16 trannys.
as for the clunk, if the car is doing it after the swap, then more so you should double check everything. it could be a loose joint somewhere. a loose motor mount, numerous amount of things.
