I just got a 2.5 inch JDM 5zigen ProRacer A-SPEC exhaust from Japan. The exhaust is much longer then a US or European exhaust, because they run a shorter CAT in Japan.
I just ordered a JDM Honda OEM '98 4-1 Integra-R exhaust manifold also. So now I can run 2.5 inch all true.

Now I need a OBDII cat in the right length to install all the parts. It also need to pass smog in Europe, so is there any info you will need? My car is a 1999 Civic VTI (Ek4) hatch. The VTI model is a European model with is born with a B16a2 engine.

Any stock cat that was there with the B16 motor should work just fine.

 

No - Because my stock cat is way too long for the exhaust to fit. And the new header has a different size to. It also needs to be a 2.5 inch cat.

Well, this had happened once to a friends hatch when he got a new exhaust, the cat wasnt the right size. What we ended up doing was making a test pipe for the time being because we couldnt figure solution out. These issues pop up here and there, and the only thing you can do is go to a muffler shop and have them fit a cat in there correctly, they would be able to help you out allot if you are short on idea's at this point.

 

There must be allot of people in here that is running a real JDM exhaust and a JDM 4-1 Integra-R exhaust manifold. Someone should know what size cat to get...

 

Hi, I am new from Hong Kong. I have a JDM EG6 directly from Japan (RHD). Sorry for my poor English first. Be attention that if you choose the JDM Honda OEM '98 4-1 Integra-R (DC2R)exhaust manifold. The end of the above manifold is a bigger size screw position that cannot connect to the JDM B16A CAT. Your only choice is to find JDM 98 spec Integra Type-R (DC2R) CAT and the length of the CAT is 30 cm. I know it because I have a same problem. I got the Vision B16A JDM CAT but I cannot place it to the 98 spec Integra Type-R (DC2R) because of the above problem!

So a 30cm cat will fit in between the JDM exhaust and JDM '98 4-1 Integra-R (DC2R)exhaust manifold? It just has to be the right bolt pattern to fit the manifold?

I'm in Europe, and the cat on my car is much longer the a JDM car.

 

Hi ComCool, all of my exhaust under are JDM so if you use '98 spec 4-1 Integra-R exhaust manifold, it is a must you should have a '98 spec Integra-R CAT, JDM mid pipe and the muffler! I also have that Proracer muffler in my house and now changed the FUJITSUBO(FGK) !

Do you know if a JDM '98 spec Integra-R CAT cat will pass smog test outside Japan? How many cells do you run in Japan?

 

Sorry, what is smog test? Is it a emission test? If yes, it cannot pass because Europe will more serious of such testing!

If you want to pass the test , you should have a original genuine 98 spec Integra Type-R CAT. But I don't know it will pass or not in Europe and I don't know the Spec of the Europe Type-R!

 

Do you know the bolt pattern of the JDM cat? Then I can try to find out

 

just get a aftermarket 2.5 inch high flow and have it modified to fit
