im not real sure how exactly to fix that problem. one thing you can try is to make sure your a/c system is full of refrigerant. you might just need to put some more in. when your refrigerant gets too low the a/c compressor will not engage.

I have experienced this before. What happened was one of the fans behind the radiator wasn't coming on. Turn on the AC. Immediately look under the hood at the fans. Make sure they are both coming on, they should both come on and stay on while the compressor is running. If they don't you will have to troubleshoot the system to find the cause.

Funny. I pretty much just told you to do what you already did.

Check for power and ground to/from the fans with the AC on. Could be as simple as bad fan motors. Do you have an electrical schematic?

This may be a stupid question...but what is Schematic. Right now I got my fans running straight from the battery and I unhook them when I get out of my car. Earlier today my a/c was working good, getting really cold, but later it was blowing hot air. so if my a/c is running low on refrigerant, will my fans not come on at all. I haven't hooked them back in to the system yet they are still sunning off of my battery.

A schematic is an electrical roadmap of the systems in the car. You may have a bad relay, could be a bad connection. Could be a lot of things causing your fans to not come on. Seems like an electrical malfunction to me.

My Prelude has a similar problem. For me, it's the electrical connector at the fan control. I don't have a radio installed in my car right now, so I just reach into the dashboard, wiggle the wires, and my AC comes back on. Connectors on high-amperage circuits are usually susceptible to failure. They're made with a male and a female side that electrically fails over time because of corrosion or mechanical weakening. What I need to do to fix my problem is to scratch corrosion off the male side, and crimp the female side with a thin screwdriver to grab the male tab tighter. You might have a similar problem with your connectors.
