my friend and i just put in a b18 ls block w/a b16 vtec head. we started it up the other day and it runs ok up til 3500rpm. once it hits 3500rpm it bounces it. it is like the ecu is redlining it 3500 instead of like 8000rpm. the check engine light is on but we cannot find out what code it is throwing because there is no light on the ecu. he is using a ecu out of a teg. gsr. how can he tell what code/codes it is throwing. also, does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong?

 

you are in limp mode...there is some sensor somewhere that muct be disconnected.

 

well, does anyone know how to find out what code/codes it is throwing. is there some way to get the "check engine light" to flash the code? come on somebody please help. i want the little hatch to run. by the way his NOS is already hoked up!!!!! i will post pics if we ever find out what is wrong.

 

there is a plug under the dash on the passenger side. two wires...i think its a blue plug. just take a piece of wire stirpped on both ends jump the terminal. then turn the cars ignition to the on position and count the flashes...i have a code book here...if you cant figure out the codes, e-mail me and i'll tell you what the codes are.
