Short shifter
First of all what are the benefits and problems to have short shifter and the difference of dual bend and single performance wise and i have 91 honda civic ex with b swap is it worth itg....
It's all about preference. A double bend is closer to you than a single so you won't have to reach as far. As far as performance, it might decrease it if you ruin your syncros. Most people damage their syncros when they get a SS because they think that you should be able to shift twice as fast since you now have one. I honestly recommend you don't get one.

same here, if you want the best shifter (IMO) it is quite the opposite of a short shifter. look up Fast Line Performance shifter, check Heel Toe on here they have them. I have one in my "race car" Ugly Ed, and I love it, I have been driving him everyday for about a month or so and when I had to switch back to a "normal" short shifter in my daily EF it feels really weird and kinda dumb. think about it this way your hand has to travel a foot or more in each direction for every shift on a short shifter, with the FLP it is mere inch to six in each direction. plus it is weighted too, that also helps. if the FLP costs too much stay stock.

wrong. changing the geometry of the shifter is a sure fire way to grind third gear every time. just think of how a short shifter shortens throws....by attaching to the linkage farther from the pivot point, therefore altering the way the linkage moves greatly. this massive side to side movment when shifting to third rounds out synchros over time.

I agree and disagree, eBay shifters throw the alignment of the shifter off from the trans because the pivot point on the shifter changed not the throw, more reputable companies like B&M account for that. but yeah most people get too crazy with the shifting and toast the syncros also

ALL short shifters shorten throw the same way. some(b&m, skunk2) do it with research and development to create a fairly reliable product.....some(ebay) just make copys that look like they work. rest assured all short shifters will cause more strain on your synchros than a stock shifter.

GarageEF,
What I was referring to was that having a SS installed in a car will do absolutely nothing to the syncros by itself. The user is the one that causes the damage to the syncros. Yes, this damage is caused by the user because of them having a SS installed, but if they were to just shift normal it wouldn't cause any damage to the syncros.
Again, I recommend just staying stock.

thank you everyone for the help....reason im asking is because i have a b16 swap with b18 tansmission and i dont know if it is me but man its kinda hard getting into gear but im not sure why i dont know if im shifting at wrong rpms or what any ideas?
I have an idea of what your saying .....when im cruising around the neighborhood first to second i push clutch in and it hesitates to go right in for a sec then goes in and continues that way of shifting throughout shifting through the gears....

try adjusting your clutch cable.
try adjusting your clutch cable.
short sifters r only good for racing but for a daily driven car..no there junk an expletive up the tranny alot quicker unless uhave deep pockets for reparing or replacing ur tranny

it sounds to me like your tranny doesnt want to go in gear...that isnt normal. it feels like your trying to shift without pressing the clutch right?....so adjust the cable.
