Ok, so I recently had my transmission replaced. The car shifts smoothly, clutch release point is good and no slipping. However, the clutch now seems stiffer than before, and I hear a squeak when depressing the clutch. After a week of driving on the new trans the squeak became less prominent, but is still there. It feels to me like something isn't lubricated properly, not that something isn't functioning properly as the car does shift smooth.

Any ideas?

 

No one can help??

 

It's nothing to worry about... Some part between the pedal assembly and the firewall/clutch (I forget what) has dried out and needs to be lubed up.. Bump for a definitive answer.

 

I just figured most civics have this squeak. didn't seem like it was hurting anything in my car

 

I have "that squeak in my car too, stock clutch/flywheel/pressure plate.
