Default help please, hissing noise

b16a crx...

i put a skunk2 intake manifold on, skunk2 TB skunk2 composite fuel rail, hondata gasket, and a b&m fuel regulator on today, and now there is a hissing noise, and the rpms when idling are going from 2000 ..staying a second and dropping down to 1000rpms and going back in that order. please help. is it a vacuum leak, or could this be the problem......

There could be air in the system, but I'd start by tightening down that bleed screw so no more coolant comes out. Can you narrow down the general area that the noise is coming from?

Do you have any CELs?

yeah dude, thats just your bleed screw. like the guy above me said, just tighten that down a bit.

The hissing sounds like its def. a vacuum leak. Just check, recheck, and check again all the vacuum lines.

Then, if you cant find anything, go to schucks or napa and get carb cleaner. Its just a couple bucks. Then just start spraying it in different areas. Do it in small areas at a time. I say that because if you have a vacuum leak it will suck up the carb cleaner and your RPMs will drop and you car might stall depending on how larg the leak is.

So do it in small areas and one you find the general area, start spraying in smaller areas around that one area. You will eventually find the problem.

I think its a manifold leak. Probably one of hte bottom bolts that connect to the head. Make sure those are all tight.

it could DEFFINENTLY be the manifold itself, those things were hard to bolt down cuz there in a horrible hard spot...

so that green thing isnt what i thought it was.

sounds like your intake mani isn't sealed right.

there's a certain order you're supposed to torque it down. basically like from the middle to the outsides.

it doesnt have to be in order, especially with the hondata gasket.

When I put mine on it was really hard to tell when it got too tight or not. So if I were you i would get to those bottom bolts again and just try to nip them down a bit more.

oh, and try that carb cleaner idea too. It will help you out A LOT.
