here this might explain why http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders/ecu.htm
it's falling on it's face because it's drowning. the b16 flows a lot more air than the z6, so the map is set up to run more fuel....too much for the little single slammer. putting an ecu for a bigger engine in won't make it faster......which you've obviously figured out. put your p28 back in and be happy. if you want b16 power, buy a b16.

okay if you really need someone to explain this...... a B16 ECU should go in a B16 motor, not in a D-Series (unless it has a d-series basemap)
you dont need to take a z6 to 8500RPM's anyways.... actually what am i saying, **** it, get a chip off ebay and take your car to 10k all day

you cant run a b16 ecu on a d16 or anything ext well a b16, you will have to have a p28, its pretty easy to chip, i would go w/t spoon spec considering its a stock motor, a few runs @9300 rpm, that would be it, while the spoon will redline @ 7200rpm, wich is still a little much 4 a sohc all stock motor, whats happening is the ecu is sending and reciveing faulty info, it wont work,no way........
