So the other day i was driving down the road my brake light came on in the dash. I tightened the e brake cable and its still on. Brake reservoir is still full and clean. Brakes work just as good as they ever have. Any ideas?

 

Did you bleed them?

Try that, it's a cheap elimination.

 

not since the light came on. but i did a few months back

 

You may have some air in the system. I don't know how, but for $3 it wouldn't hurt to get new fluid.

Only other thing I could think of is the sensor that is triggered when you pull the ebrake up.

 

the light is usually on now regardless of the e brake being up. but ya ill bleed em just to try to fix the problem. thanks for the help

 

check the rear brakes to see if they're seizing. other than that, I'd put my money on a faulty switch/sensor
