im such a dumb-f#$% look WHY ive been whining my car hasnt been hitting VTEC... ull laugh!!
well im a newbie and ive been a whole week tryin to figure out and decode why my car hasnt had vtec.. so ive been searching around on the internet.. im running OBD1 with a P28 ECU..
ok anyways.. i saved this picture cause i figured it would help me out alot

...so i started with what ive been trying to figure out for the past week i tried the paper clip trick.. it give me a CODE 21 for the VTEC Selenoid.. ok.. so here i am down there looking at the A plug.. and SURE ENOUGH to my amazement..
so..i unplugged the negative battery cable..i spliced the wire on the selenoid.. and just ran me a wire back to the ECU and stuck it in the A4 Connector...
AND THEN i plug the battery cable back on.. START the car.. let it set for a min.. then i turn it back off....i still have a CEL ..i try the paper clip again... AND THEN I GET A CODE 22... VTEC PRESSURE SWITCH... i was like OH MY GOD.. so whoever done the swap never even wired in VTEC.. and i think.. whenever i get all my wires ran to the ECU from all the vtec components.. it should finally engage..
im just so mad it got dark on me and i couldnt finish it tonight..
i cant believe i didnt check that plug in the first place oh my gosh..BUT do u all think im on the right track.. prolly after i get the pressure switch wired up.. the KNOCK SENSOR should show up..sooo i think im on the right track. tell me what u all think?

what do u mean it doesnt look for the knock sensor.. so i mean...after i get the pressure switch..?... that should be it?

so the wires coming off the knock sensor.. i know they should be 2 of them... where do they go or do i even wire it up?

i still got a CODE 5 which is MAP sensor.. i found a new one for 25 dollars... if i replace that.. IT may fix it.. what exactly does the MAP sensor do? and the fellar up ahead said it puts my car in LIMP mode
