In order to have the smog tech even look at your car you will need a BAR sticker.
Since they try to look for VINs to scan from your car and engine to make sure they match.
To BAR your car you need to make an appointment to a BAR referee which are usually at community colleges or automotive schools.
They check for all the emission control systems on your car and such and do a pretty much a test only smog test.
Costs you 30 bucks per try and 10 bucks for the BAR sticker. if you fail, you get one free try after that. Then you have to pay again if you fail.
check the FAQ or search there are lots of info on how to pass BAR.
