Make sure the welder you are buying is gas ready.
Lincoln sells these with or without the gas solenoid. ( flux cored or MIG)
Keep that in mind when you are comparing prices.
And yes, that is a good welder for exhaust work. I would not recomend you use the gassless (flux core wire) welder. The real MIG ( metal inert gas) welder provides a lot better results.

keep that **** to yourself.. lmao..
Just rent one of those 120V AC welders from home depot and try it out first. might be fine to for exhaust work on your A to B car but as soon as you try to '*** a few things' you'll want to gay bash that welder. they're not very powerfull for thicker stuff and gas is MUCH nicer to work with.
A good used MIG (gas) would probably be a good way to start off if you're tight for cash.

Check craigslist in your city for a used mig. You may be able to find a good deal. Look for the highest amp output range you can find for 110V (assuming you are not going 220 on a starter welder) and get infinite adjustment if you can. A lot of the stripped down versions HD and Lowe's sell are two or four setting welders and that gets annoying once you get good enough to understand dialing in the proper settings.
Also, I agree with the posts regarding getting one gas-ready. Flux core is a crap if you are going to do anything serious with it (besides make a lamp stand or an end table).
A decent mig welder can be a very versatile machine. Best of luck.
