Default How many Latteral G's added by better tires?

I saw in motortrend, that the corvette and cobra-R was able to break 1G of latteral acceleration with the g-force tires.

Anyone test their ITR to see how much was gained when you upgraded to better tires?

Car & Driver went from 0.88 stock to 0.92 with 225/45/16 S-02 tyres on King's car. (King's car also had Lowdowns and 26mm front and rear bars.)

There will be some gains on a stock susp. You will see much greater ones on a susp that can be tuned to work with the tires....

At the last BMWCCA event, I pulled enough g's on the skidpad to cause the oil in my motor to shift, starving one side of the motor. It's not fun to see white smoke coming out of your car. But I was better off than the rental car Mustang which threw a rod on the skidpad.

I was on 205/50/15 Kumho V700s with EVERYTHING else stock.

Reid - who knows his 225/205 AS303 combo pulls more G's...

i think spoon's is more expensive though, even though they are just modified stock pans.

Yup, they use these special boxes that are extra light and strong. So you might pay more for their parts, but shipping costs less because the boxes are lightweight. Also because the boxes are stronger, the Spoon parts are protected better. In fact, I made a duffle bag out of the bag my Spoon cluster came in.

I've recorded close to 1.5gs in the infield at Charlotte Motor Speedway (it's not a hardware store), but that's with 9.5" wide Goodyear slicks on my GT4 Civic.

That's all?

I don't believe you, post a pic of your "GT4 Civic".

Reid - who's just kidding and hopes SMSP will post a pic of the CRX that he hasn't seen yet... got any shots of it up on two wheels?

LOL! I heard that you can house a family of pygmies in a Spoon engine box.

Recorded with Tom Lombardo's G Analyst a couple years ago. Tom's 86 Civic which has won the E Prepared Solo II National Championship for the last 8 years piloted by John Thomas pulls better numbers.

Here's mine.....I wish it was running. Don't ya just love those smooth fenders.

You'd make more money if you stopped making headers and instead made those fenders in applications for 88-91 Civics, 92-95 Civics, 96-00 Civics, and oooh coming soon, 01+ Civics!
