Default H22 water pump

I'm installing a new water pump and going with the instructions in my Helms manual, the manual does not mention anything about using Honda Bond on the mating surface of the water pump. I have never installed a water pump without some sort of liquid gasket. What's the correct way to install this? No liquid gasket such as Honda Bond?

Thanks,

There is no need for any type of sealant. That's why the o-ring gasket is there.

Thank you.

The reason I asked is because I took the old pump off and it was covered in liquid gasket.

I compared the new OEM pump with the old pump and it seems a bit different. I think it was a generic after market one. The O-Ring seemed thinner also.
