Default first car..........lsvtec w/ b16 head

recently my parents baught me an integra. 1997 ls 4 door. The motor swap has a 2000 ls block with a 2001 si head. I have a greddy sp2 cat back, aem short ram intake, edlebrok intake mani, and skunk 2 chip, and integra type R intake cam. Theres probably some other things I am missing, but the guy hasnt gotten me all the paper work . I wanna shoot for 170-180 whp if possible(wanna vr6 killr). What else do you guys think i need to reach this goal? If something doesnt make sence, let me know, im just gettin the hang of this.

you should check out the dyno thread at the tope of the All-Motor forum. theres alot of ls/vtec setups making the power you want in there.

congrats on the car and for the four-door!

I'm sorry, but I never realized that there was a 2001 si with a dohc vtec B-series head. I think you're confused on this, 99-00 si is probably what you mean.

i would first make sure the guy didnt just slap the head on the block and call it a day. in all likelyhood, that's what happened though.

I just read the for sale thread and know what your problem is. The guy set your car up to be run on a turbo...as an all motor car it would suck for power the way it's configured now. You really only have two choices. Go with a low boost turbo kit or go all motor and haul the bottom end out and put some PR3 (99-00Si) pistons in there with ARP rod bolts. You could add the type R exhaust cam then or upgrade to more agressive cams to really get some power. Your current intake manifold is really only good for boost so you'd have to swap it out for an ITR style manifold to compliment the all motor approach. Tuning such as Hondata/Neptune/ or Crome etc would also be mandatory to give you what you want. Going boost is probably cheaper for you but you'll have to keep it reasonable on that stock LS bottom end.

an ITR exhaust cam will only gain you about 1hp so I would say it it not worth the time of sourcing or money

but I would not upgrade to larger cams because the stock LS pistons do not have the proper sized valve reliefs to run anything larger than itr cams without piston to valve contact

if you plan to go all motor then swap in some pr3, p30 or jdm itr pistons with a larger set of cams and ditch the JG intake manifold

the pr3 and p30 pistons will fit right onto your stock LS rods

the itr pistons require you to shave down the small end of the rod to get them to fit

RS machine sells oem style cast pistons with rings and all have an anti-friction coating for a very reasonable price
