GAS LIGHT PROBLEM. not showing?
2000 CX (hatchback) cluster. never really went all the way to E, but ive been at E and there isn't the little pump symbol (yellow light) to tell me to fill like on the SI cluster n such. somebody help me out? does the CX have no light or something?
It's a CX. I thought they didn't have one? And if they did, it would be a lil bulb by the gas guage wouldn't it? They are pointless anyway. That'd be like you needing an "Engine on" or "Engine running" indicator.
thats what im thinking, because its a CX????
if anybody has had a CX, LMK on this one. Now that i looked at it closely, instead of there being that little yellowish symbol (like my friends' EX and SI), there's the little black blank plate on it like all the other unusable circle things.
But this is the weird part... when i was low on gas, the little yellow dimming light caught my eye but instead of lighting up a gas pump picture, it was as if the light was lighting up that little black plate over it and i saw a bunch of little black dots instead.
I dunno, just trying to figure out if the CX's didnt have them.

LOL, naw when i got off of work it was dark outside. i mean you know if you shine al ight through thin black plastic piece, then you SEE the light very little? that's what it's like. i mean i dont wanna keep driving and end up stalling, i just need to know if the this cluster has a light at all or not.

not sure if there's one or not, but find out if you have the sensor in the tank and the pop the cluster appart and see if you can punch the blank out and put a light in.

My 99 Civic Dx Hatch's light doesn't come on either and i have seen it blink like you said. I can be under the empty line and it still doesn't come on. Who knows?
shouldn't the light come on when you turn your ignition to acc.? (ie. not turning the car on, just until it clicks once) i could be wrong, but i thought that your dash lights came on like battery, brake, seatbelt, etc. when you did this. my eg doesn't have a gas light either,

No, the gas light will not come on when you first turn the car on.
'98 EX cluster (so if it lights here, it's supposed to light in the event that you have said function in your car).

Keep in mind that the e-brake was on and the driver was not belted in when this photo was taken. These are the lights that will light up when the car first comes on if the e-brake is engaged and the driver is not belted in though.
When I turned it to accessories, the seatbelt and the brake lights were the only to light up on the display.

THANKS A LOT EVERYONE!!! looks like we cleared up a confusing problem lol.
yes the last responses seem about right. i guess the DX and CX models didnt come with them because they were "low standards" and Honda went cheap on not assembling thousands of additional little yellow circles ha!
Hey NOFX... you said you had a trim difference list? where is this list Miss? Show me your list, sounds like it has some good informative stuff!

Well, I'd think it might have something to do with the CX (at least) not having a tank pressure sensor, not so much that Honda changed the cluster that much.
I had written a little list of differences in 6G clusters too.

Source: Honda EPC. If I didn't list a cluster accessory, it's because it wasn't listed in the EPC under that trim for that year.
I've listed next to the trims what transmissions are available for those trims.
**Please take note that for cars that are available in both manual and auto/cvt, it seems that those cars list a tachometer regardless of if the selected transmission is a manual or not.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Oh, and here's the trim differences thread for 6th gens.
