H22 w/lsd how to tell if its an s-type?
Having the Type S engine made me have to buy a whole new tranny bracket
because the S-type one wouldnt work with HCP mounkit.
Ok above is what I read on a differnet site, but I would like some clarification.
I have a jdm h22a 95 w/lsd is this type s because it has lsd? kind of what it sounded like if you read the rest of the post, but not going to bore you. its going in to a 95 civic coupe useing hasport mounts. am I going to have to buy a new bracket or is this something on 96+ motors?
thanks

Wrong, he's talking about the JDM Type-S motor. Does your motor have a red valve cover? If so, it is a real JDM Type-S.

What is the motor code i.e. H22A4, Also I have never seen a type S motor that did not have a red valve cover. I could be wrong though..... If it says H22A4 as an engine could it is not a Type S, there motor code is H22A, Plus if it is a type S they were only made form 1997 - 2001.... My bad... Edit.. I did not see where you had stated your motor code above..... Sorry, but i would still be curious as for the year? I dunno, I'll shut up now....
if its type S tranny the tranny will look different then a regular h22 tranny
check the prelude forums it has a pic i used to own a prelude with an h22
and it will say H22A and the numbers under it will be in the 4 millions meaning its type S
if its 95 its not type S but it can stillhave LSD

My only real concern is that I would have to purchase a usdm tranny mount. But to answer your questions it is an h22a the date code is Oct 94 (jdm has no numbers after the h22a as I understand). the tranny has the lsd code h2b4??? I'm guessing from what you guys are saying it would not be s-type so there is no need for concern about the usdm tranny mount.
