I have a 1996 civic DX, but swapped a 2000 civic DX motor in it. i used the 2000 civic wiring harness. the problem is my speedometer and rpm guage doesnt work. does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

 

did you go back to make sure everything is plugged in

 

You shouldn't be having a problem if everything is hooked up properly, and no plugs were damaged in the process. I say check your plugs for any damages/connection issues, and make sure they're on properly.

Bump for a more certain answer. I hate electrical problems.

 

96 is OBD2, 99-00 is obd2a, im not sure if that is the problem, to be honest im not clear on the differences on obd2 vs 2A, but im just getting that out there.

Also make sure that everything is plugged in.
Are your Fuel and Temp guage working correctly?

 

a shop did it for me. they werent really sure either. fuel and temperature is working though.
