Default Lower ball joint is stuck in steering knuckle

Man, I hammered the **** out of this thing. The information about removing it from the lower control arm was great, but is it particularly hard on a 4th gen lude or is it me? Another question I had was "will it be alright to put Castrol(Honda) Gear oil in my tranny to replace the oil I spilled removing my axles? Will the Honda MTF and Castrol(Honda) mix alright?

I'm going to have to put pictures of my clutch plate up here. What was left of the rivets were creating hot spots in my flywheel. My Honda tech said it was alright, though The previous owner definitely needs to stick with the AT's.

yea, if it has not been removed in awhile it can be difficult. just hammer the hell out of it with a pickle fork and it should come free. i think the tranny fluids should mix ok but I would just drain it all out and fill up with honda MTF or I think you can use just regular 10w-30

I'm sorry. I worded this whole post wrong. I have already removed the ball joint from the lower control arm, I need to get it out of the whole steering knuckle. I have done it with a press, but is there a way to do it without one?

The guide I read said to use a deep socket and a hammer.

Also don't put gear oil in your mt. It uses 10w30 or mtf.

Did you remove the snap ring thats locking it in place ?

Deep 17mm socket and hammer should do it after the snap ring is removed. For god sake dont break it !!!! I had a hell of a time finding a replacement . lol

ACT 6 Puck race clutch is installed and I am overly satisfied with it. I ended up just brute forcing the old ball joint out. The new one I put in the freezer for 2 hrs while I put the whole steering knuckle with the rotor and everything in the oven at 200 deg F. I was expecting some pressing to be needed, but the ball joint just fell in! I took it for a trial ride down to the store and back. I just cleaned up and you would never guess what I found...The 35mm Hub nut. . I'm so stupid. Oh well, I'm still alive and the nut is back on. I love how my clutch pedal catches right above the floor. I can finally chirp 3rd gear.
