but im still scared about my car burning oil...

i let the engine run for half an hour to warm up before i took this video...

holy ****, you said you just got this car in your other post? Take it to the guy you bought it from and see if he will help you out. Because that is just far from normal.
Almost looks like what I have seen from someone putting way too much oil in their car. But I somehow doubt you would be that lucky.

i checked my oil level and it is about 5mm higher than the max notch on the dip... will this be the problem. im gunna giv it an oil change although the oil looks clean and gunna get a new filter, n then fillit up to the required amount...

no, the hgh level of oil will not make you burn oil. there are times i have put a little more oil than required but never had a problem like burning oil.

dont change your oil. it will be a waste. you mush have bad piston rings.

 

I agree that it is the rings. However it may also be a number of more rarer things like a damaged sleeve. Like a scratch in the wall that the ring cannot compress against, or may be the valve guides or something up in that area. but i dont think that you would get that much oil from the valve problems. i would say buy a new set of rings and hone out your cylinders. also while your in there check for damage to the sleeve. Hope this helps at all.

 

i drained al ittle bit of oil out today after not being able to get a filter till tuesday lol...
and then i done a compression test, and they were all reaching 180 psi (my dad said anything over 125 is good, but i dunno if a vtec engine would be different?)

when i took the plugs out they were very dark n dull my dad said this could be because the engine is not getting the right mix of fuel and air... in this case its not getting enough air (dads theory)... and he said this is why the smoke is a bit dark and he also said it deffinatley doesnt smell like oil.. he recons it smells like fuel...

if any of this makes sence could anyone clarify that this could be the problem?

ummmm, the title of the youtube video says "CRX burning oil????" Isn't that a Del Sol? I know it's european, but still.......Are the names different over there? I know the Acura TSX is the Honda Accord, and the TL is like the "inspire" or whatever....

 

over here every one calls the 1992 onwards model a del sol... however i read on parker guide that the name del sol is only given to the japanese manufactured ones... i didnt want to go insulting ppl, and them thinking i was a noob for calling it a delsol when technically it isnt...

but yeh over here in england most ppl call then a crx - del sol

any one got anymore input on my smoke problem?

your compression is pretty good. i mean it could be better but 180 across the board from what i have heard isnt too bad. if it was me i would change the oil and run something a little bit heavier weight. i had an h22 ek hatch and my smoked like that after it warmed up so i ran like a 40 weight and gave my car a little longer to warm up and get the thicker oil moving. may not be what you wanna do but it worked for me and i didnt have any problems out of the motor while doing that. good luck

 

The heavier oil does seal up the rings better but it is only a temporary fix. The problem is still there just masked up. Just take apart your engine install new rings hone out your cylinders a lil bit and if that dont work then it has got to be in the valve train. If you do not know how to do this then go to a shop and have them fix it for you.
