Default FRIED cd Battery Wire, Now Throwing CEL for Engine Coolant Temp~!?

While I was drivin yesterday my battery wire for my cd player Completely FRIED. Must of grounded out on something and burnt to a crisp. The cabin was filled with smoke. It also killed the car.. had to push it. Now it's Throwin a CEL 6 engine coolant temp sens. My gauge is working properly.. Just started actin up when that wire fried. I re ran a new battery wire; cd player is working fine. I can't figure out why it did that.. I reset the ecu several times.. just keeps drivin in safe mode. My battery wire is hooked up to my fuse box under the hood for power.. I don't know if somethin shorted out or what.. but no fuses blown. help. this is weak.

the temp sensor that controls the gauge in the car is completely different than the CTS that the ecu uses for reference. I would check for other melted wires,

get out your helms and see what other circuits that power wire ties into, you would have completely fried anything else dude, over 100amps had to flow thru that thing while it was shorted.

replaced the CTS and that fixed the problem. When the wire shorted, I bet it spiked everything tied into it, and that was the one to go. weird. runs good now. i bet changin that thing helpd with the a/f a little.
