Default Steering Problems

hey guys, got a problem

i was driving home when i noticed it was harder for me to turn left or right when i was turning into a street...i mean my power steering was already out anyways but it felt like the steering wheel was locked up and it took all my energy to turn my steering wheel..i couldnt stand it

does anyone know what it could be? and if its a part, does anyone have it for cheap? thanks

Maybe your rack and pinion are shot? Money wise... 300 ish with labor? I'm sorta guessing but just going from experience on my mom's camry. Cost her 300-400ish to fix.

Try jacking up the front end of the car with the engine off and see how it steers. It shouldn't take ANY effort at ALL to steer with the wheels off the ground. Check for noises. See if you can wobble the wheels while the car is lifted. One step at a time. You mention your PS was shot. Was it shot meaning completely dead? or dying out?
