Transmission Problem?
OK so the other week I had my Lude up on a lift to change the oil. I noticed I had transmission fluid leaking. (Oil+lucas tranny stabilizer). Its a 5 speed. I Didnt bother checking the level though. Tonight as I was driving home from work I here a Clicking or sometype of noise coming from under the car. It only happens when its in gear and accellerating. Could the tranny of drained dry and thats why it started making the noise? Im going to check the fluid tomorrow when i can put it back up on the lift.
you can put fluid in, but if its clicking its already damaged, imo.
this happened to me. i dont remember how or why, but after i refilled my tranny fluid, i forgot? to tighten the drain bolt for some freakin reason. i dont remember. anyway i obviously didnt know i'd done that, and eventually my 3rd gear synchro went out, and then the clicking came. trans eventually crapped out, to where the gears literally drilled their way into the input shaft housing.
if it was dry, it would be smoking/breaking apart.
fill it up and hope there is no damage

You could also just be noticing the clicking now because you noticed the fluid and you're paying closer attention to it. Fix the leak, replace your fluid, and drive it. If the clicking gets worse, then deal with the issue. I wouldn't plan any cross country trips in the meantime though.
