those are paper clips that hold my shifter *h22* together what do i replace them with?

cotter pins are suppose to be there holding the shifter cables in place. paper clips can and will break due to the heat inside the engine bay. go to auto zone and buy a pack of cotter pins. its like no more then 2 bucks for an assorted pack good luck.

that would work just fine...

you can get cotter pins if you really want...but if it was me i would just leave the clips there.

hmmm i have clips on my axles and such never had a problem. so cotter pins have higher heat tolerence?

im not a scientist or anything.. everything has a reason bro. im pretty sure the aluminum or whatever its made out of is different. i dont know, if honda wanted "paper clips" to hold in the shifter cables in, they would of done it.

For shift linkage, I've always used hitch pins, not cotter pins. Easier to work with for something like that IMO.
