4th gen h23 engine gone-ideas?
here goes,
95 uk 2.3 auto lude,
symptoms- oil in water system, overheating.black smoke out of exhaust when warmed up.
the head was changed for a tested used one, no change to symptoms. ran engine for 2 hours idleing- to burn any water up that may have got in cat ect- but it just kept smoking!!!
i am limited in my engine knowledge- but my best guess is cracked cylinder!
not happy
is the bird dead??
any suggestions or advice is very much appreciated!!

If your cylinder is cracked, the engine is pretty much a goner. Perfect time for you to swap in a JDM H22A

my last car was a 96 uk h22a2 vtec, honestly -lovely to drive, didnt find it very fast tho, so put a megan racing 4/2/1 ehaust and dc induction kit- made a little difference, but still wasnt what i call fast. so i dont know if i want another.
maby if i found a gen 5 type s engine?
