Default Using a Universal Muffler...?

alrite... didnt wanna have to replace the exhaust before the motor... but it fell off! ******* rust!

so i plan on using a universal apexi n1..
http://www.modacar.com/product....html

how do i know if i can make a universal muffler fit? i plan on running strait 2.5 piping from the header back.. i dont want the muffler to sit crooked.. or angled or anything... just strait out, like normal!!! so any tips on how to ensure that a apexi n1 will fit?????

or is it easier to buy the whole cat-back..? i really want the all black. or gold pipe!

It's "easier" to buy the whole cat-back, but an exhaust shop can make that one work for you.

i know its easier... what im getting at is... theres about 23inches of clearance from where the muffler would end at the back of the car to the LCA.. i need to fit a muffler and weld a pipe to that... so i dont have much room to work with... unless i let the muffler sit **** eyed.. but thats no good for me.

if anyone has a apexi like the one above and could measure just the muffler for me that would be helpful.

or if anyone has any other routes for me to go.. i want something good.. no cheapo ****.

Any quality shop can custom make an exhaust to your specifications (i.e. piping diamtere, cat/no cat, hangers, etc.). I would definitely suggest this route if you don't go with a cat-back system.

im not concerned about the piping... any meineke.. or muffler guy can do what i want...

the main concern is the length of the universal muffler. a normal(oem) exhaust has the muffler running sideways with piping running out the back... i want to use the apexi muffler, but i am not sure if i can mount that pipe considering it will sit the long way not sideways... anyone know the size specs of an apexi worldsport? at least the length? i just want to make sure theres gonna be enough space to weld a pipe to the back of it without it hitting the LCA.

thanks... confusing!

Aaaaahhhh, I see whatcha mean now. Very rarely have I seen somebody that was able to use a uni. muffler without having to angle it somewhat.

hey man,
i have custom 2.5 inch piping (cat back) and a universal muffler like the one you want to buy, it fits perfectly. Just go to a muffler shop as mentioned and they should be able to set you up!!

thanks man.. you dont have any pics from under the car do you?

so your saying you have a "can" right out the rear... not like a extra piece welded on to come out the rear like an oem right?

does it sit flush.. or hang out the rear a few inches.. or **** eyed?

do u know the length of your can?
