Default fitv problem

hey i have a b16 on my crx but i decided to put in a skunk 2 manifold everything fits well except the first idle thermo valve because that goes bolt in on the stock manifold and two hoses come out of that one from the thorttlee body and other one from the block so what i was trying to figure out is if i can just plug in both hoses together and make it one isntead of using the thermo valve. but i dont know what the thermo valve does to the car i dont know if is necesary or not so please help me out on this so i can start quicker thanks

Well, the fitv is used for cold idle control. Basically, it has coolant lines that run to it, and depending on how hot or cold the coolant is, a wax thingy will contract/expand to create a vacuum leak which increases your idle accordingly. When your car warms up, the fitv no longer affects idle, and your iacv takes over.

The only solution I can think of is upgrading to obd1. The newer computers don't need the fitv, and can control cold idle effectively with just the iacv.

No, it will work fine, you'll just have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it idling until its warmed up.

Turn the caps lock off. Stop making multiple threads as well, you can ask more than one question in a thread.

Just connect the two together using a fitting... they are just coolant lines.
