PLEASE HELP HONDA GURUS! timing problems and I AM ALL OUT OF IDEAS!!!
my FIRST problem. i seem to be throwing a code 1 (o2 sensor) and 3 (map sensor). don't know why. i dirve for a while and no check engine light comes on what so ever. then after i don't know 15-20 min of driving the light goes on.. now i have just replaced my o2 sensor with a brand new one. i do have an aftermarket header tho and with the stock rad. fan. with this fan there is not sufficient room to screw in the o2 sensor at the first plug up top by the head. therefore i have plugged it underneath near the cat....could this be the prob??? i don't see why it would be tho.
second, don't know much on the map sensor. maybe because i'm throwing a code 1 it also throws a code 3?
any info would suffice.
-NEXT i have a d16a6
I HAVE REPLACED THE FOLLOWING:
o2 sensor,
distributor
dist cap
dist rotar
spark plug wires (not spark plugs)
main relay
and cam seal
my problem. i have checked and re-checked the timing over and over and it's seems tp be PERFECT! but if i let it sit and cool down, say i go to sleep at night and wake up the next morning to turn it on it HELLA BOGS. but after the temperature reaches normal, bout 5-10 min it's fine.
now, i do have the timing advanced, and it does kinda sputter because of it BUT, would having my cars timing advanced really have that big of effect on how it idles when i turn it on.
becuase after it warms up it runs DAMN GOOD. also could the above problems be why it idles rough even though a code hasn't been thrown???
THESE ARE THE ONLY THINGS I CAN THINK OF!!!!!!
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME???
ANNNNNNNNNNNY IDEAS WOULD HELP.

My timing was off and it caused a code 1, oxygen sensor error. Set your cam timing, then set ignition timing and see if that fixes the code 1. Always start with factory settings. I can't help you with the code 3 MAP sensor though, sorry.
Since your obd0, your o2 needs to heat up, and being that far away from the heat could be the problem. Also if u crimped or soldered it in, check your connection and just try a new map sensor
