Fuse - Instrument panel lights
I have a Ej6 coupe, and I bought 5 brand new fuses which are 7.5 and everytime I would turn my lights on the gauge cluster lights would make my fuses blow. Does anyone know a solution to my problem? Aright thanks everyone. Btw I installed a tach recently but I doubt that is the problem but help me out. Thanks.
yeah bro.. I still have the same problemo LOL.. I just ride at night with no gauge lights LOL haha.. But my best bet for your car is a short also LOL... What did you recently install in your car? Did you touch any of your wires?
i installed guage faces like 3 monts ago no problem but when i went to make the switch and dimmer perminate that when my problem came up. but i removed all the power stuff for the new faces but no luck still blowes fuses cant figure it out i think i might just take it in to a dealer or something maybe they can figure it out but it will be a while before i do that ill just use a small flashlight till it get fixed so i can at least see how fast im going
lols yeah, I did what you did too haha. I took took my tach out and it still blows fuses too. And when I drive at night I use this blue light thingy that I bought from autozone and it some what helps. If you do, take it to the dealer let me know what your outcome is.
ok well i didnt take it to the dealer but i did fix it it was just a loose ground i got under the dash and just started to push everything in tight against the connectors and then crossed my fingers and wah lah it worked so got it all back together and it looks good.
let me know if you get urs fixed

well when you replace the fuse do u hear a pop after u turn on the lights?
if so do this
take off kick panels where wireing is
push back seat or remove set to get in up close to wires
push in each individual wire in the immediate area of the fuse box
once finished pushing in wires
install new fuse try lights if it dosent pop its good to go but if it pops than i dont know man.
the only other thing i can say is to take it to the dealer and have them fix it

Damn guys.. I think Us Three are the only ones with this Fuse light problem.. And yes, when i did installed a new fuse and turned the lights on I still got that poping noise right away. Im going to try your technic.. Thanks
you arent the only ones! it just happened to me like 2 weeks ago, you guys have gotten farther than i have though, i just use my phone every once in a while to check on the speed! haha.. i didnt install anything in my car though, just one night i got in the civic and no dash lights at all.... havent had a chance to investigate too far, but when i do ill start by checkin the wires as you guys said... anyway this sucks...
Well, I tried my wires. But still, I cannot find a short and my wires seem to be fine. Im lost with ideas. And im defently not trying to go to honda and they charging me like 200+ im guessing just to fix some dinky problemo! Welps, my best guess is to use a flash light while driving at night! LOL..
check for a bad ground connection or hook up a voltage meter to your fuse and under your dash for your lights...just watch for a voltage drop. sounds alot like a short in a wire. just an idea.
