You will need the A/C compressor specifically for a B-series motor.

what about the rest of it, will the mounts from the b-series work in the civic? or do i need the whole setup from the civic and the b-series compressor? would they work together? or the whole b-series setup with civic mounts? would that work?

No- you want to get either a p54 or a crv ac compressor bracket, and then run this-

thanks for the help, but i was hoping to go a little cheaper if at all possible, if i found all the stock a/c parts that were original to the car from someone who had pulled them from their own car, and a compressor to go with the motor, would that work together?

no- you want the compressor that came stock with the d series. im in the same boat as you- i want to retrofit ac. What im doing is buying the bracket then finding someone who pulled theirs, and using everything except the bracket

get a del sol vtec bracket or a crv bracket (maybe p7j). you can then use everything from a civic. compressor, condensor, drier, lines, everything.

YES. We are ALL talking about the Compressor Bracket.

The stock GSR Compressor bracket will NOT work with your stock, D-series, A/C compressor.

You're options are to use a Del Sol VTEC compressor bracket or a CRV compressor bracket with ALL stock to the car, D-series, A/C components.

Here are the parts numbers for both.
CRV - 38930-P7J-000 - $64
Del Sol - 38930-P30-000 - $104

Prices are from Majestic Honda.(Click on Name for link) Great place to find and buy cheap OEM parts.
