Using fiberglass for rust repair?
Hey guys, I've got a del sol that's developed the usual rust spots in the rear quarter panel. Most of the replies i've seen on the forum recommend getting a new piece welded in. While I'd love to do this, I don't have the funds to spend $500+ on rust repair.
Would it be possible to lay some fiberglass in the hole (it's approx. 1 inch by 3 inches) and use Por 15 to fill it in? I'm aware that it won't be as nice as welding in a piece but it would cost a whole lot less.

I have the same problem and was going to use the same method.
Alot of people pointed me towards fiberglass and Por 15
I've seen it before, and after it is sanded and painted, looks like nothing was ever there

just curious - in a build thread I saw someone using a kevlar paste... fiberglass can promote rust
